My Story

Hi, I am Sari Vainio,

I am an visual artist and designer.

In the 1990s, I lived in Rome for eleven years, studying art, fashion, and textile design at the Accademia di Costume e di Moda while also working as an assistant to an interior designer. Those years—surrounded by centuries of history and immersed in an environment attuned to beauty—gave me a profound foundation and sensitivity that continue to shape my artistic work. Later, I spent many years in international marketing before retiring. In recent years, painting has returned to the center of my life, back to where my creative path truly began.

Painting and visual expression have always been my deepest passion. Nature is the wellspring of my inspiration: its diversity, rhythm, and constant transformation surprise me every day. Walking in the forest, I find both inner calm and the creative energy that guides my process. My work brings together playful movement, joyful color, and the harmonious balance of the natural world.

I work primarily with acrylics on canvas, allowing each piece to evolve intuitively. I experiment with techniques as the process unfolds—layering, exploring, and letting the painting find its own direction. Every artwork becomes a journey where the sensitivity of the moment meets the quiet power of nature.
